Undead Reckoning: Days Gone Dark

The Bell

Undead Reckoning: Days Gone Dark is not your typical zombie survival game. This is not a game of constant hordes.

Undead Reckoning: Days Gone Dark is not your typical zombie survival game. This is not a game of constant hordes. Between the dead there are walls, watches, meals, and nights where the work is to keep the Veil thick. Tables that came only for the next swarm will find those Haven scenes slow on purpose.

Infection is not a fight tracker. It is a calendar: days of care, scarce kit, and closed gates, not a roll you shake off before the next ruin.

This is a world shaped by silence, faith, and decay. Survival is measured not only in breath and blood, but in belief itself. The setting is Echo-Earth: a place that resembles a post-collapse world yet has been fundamentally altered by a metaphysical resonance known as the Echo. Technology is fragmented and unreliable. Wind turbines stand beside blacksmith forges. Rifles rest on altars next to relics. Civilization endures, but only in scattered, hard-won pockets.

Unlike many apocalyptic games, Undead Reckoning does not demand constant flight from one horror to the next. Between the dangers lie Havens. Havens are places where survivors rebuild, rest, trade stories, and remember what it means to be human. Players may scavenge and fight, or they may sit by the fire and pray the dead stay sleeping. The game supports both desperate action and quiet, moral storytelling.

The central themes are simple and demanding:

  • Faith over Fear: The living battle despair as much as they battle the undead.

  • Frontier Grit: Hope is earned through sweat, sacrifice, and conviction.

  • Mystery over Explanation: The world resists reason, only belief endures.

  • Redemption in Decay: Every act, merciful or cruel, shapes what little light remains

The question of the game is never “how did the world end?”

It is always “who still deserves the dawn?”
